Hi All,

Just thought that I would give some of my students who have been studying modes a useful link. It's a handy little flash application that maps out modes in any key. Just go to http://guitartools.net/

Hope this helps the new students remember the parts of the guitar fret board and string names! Click on the link below to play it.

If if won't play, you may have to install the correct flash player for your browser in PC or Mac format from the following link to resolve the issue:

Note: At present Apple has restricted access to Adobe Flash content so that it cannot be played on an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch.

More on modes. Here are a couple of links to YouTube videos featuring Joe Satriani discussing modes and how he uses them in his playing. These are also a great insight into part of the knowledge, skill and creativity that makes Joe a great player and teacher. Two uber cool videos to enjoy:

Hi Everyone,

The whole blog thing had to be put on hold due to a few personal dramas but lessons are going on with a new option being taken up on line now. Guitar and bass students can now get a personalised lesson recorded as an answer to their guitar related questions. The response video will be sent via email as a link to a private YouTube video. That way you can always revise the lesson simply by replaying it. To book a video lesson just email your question and we will reply after your PayPal payment has been recieved. To pay just go to the Existing Students section of our website and select the YouTube lesson option to purchase a video lesson.

C'ya soon
